10 The Simpsons Are Based on Matt Groening’s Family

He dreamed of an idea which involved having a similar family to his. So Groening’s mother’s name is Margaret, father’s name is Homer actually, and has younger sisters whose name are Maggie and Lisa. This show as much as it was popular, was also criticized by many at the same time, especially from parents who believed that such show is nothing but bad influence. First Former Lady Barbara Bush, also made a remark about this show in People Magazine, which was in 1990.
She said that the show was the dumbest thing she has seen ever. Followed by this Marge Simpson has sent personalized letter to the First Former Lady, addressing that, her family may not come across as perfect but she had still tried instilling humility to her children, and said that we all live exceptional lives, but have a lot of things in common. Barbara Bush was truly moved by this letter and apologized for the remarks made by her and said that Marge rather was setting great example for country.
